Hermann David Salomon Corrodi was born in Frascati, near Rome, on July 23, 1844. Corrodi was a landscape and history painter, engraver and a professor. He began his studies in Genf, studied in Rome until 1893, and later studied in Paris, London, Munich and Korsika. During his travels and reputable career, Corrodi exhibited in Paris in 1900, as well as in Rome, Vienna and various cities in Germany and England. He was also an artist for the court of Great Britain, whose collection included some of his etchings. Corrodi died in Rome on January 30, 1905.
