We rarely see depictions of Tivoli Gardens, which is one of the world’s best known amusement parks and one of the greatest attractions in Scandinavia. Founded in 1843, the park is known for its thrilling amusement rides, concerts, outdoor restaurants, gardens and nighttime display from over 120,000 lights. Highlights include the gardens with extensive blooming flower beds that surround Tivoli Lake (the remains of the old city moat) with its fountains and boat rides, and the famous Pantomime, or Peacock Theatre where the famous Pierrot performs. A favourite of local Danes, the park is a must-see for any visitor to Copenhagen either in the summer or for the Christmas season.
