Large brass circular alms dish having an ornate circular rim with hand tooled decoration, and a shaped dish center with raised flower decoration to the middle. Nuremberg 16th/17th century.
Alms dishes, also known as Armada dishes or Elizabethan dishes, were used to collect monetary offerings from church congregations, as well as for displaying or serving food.
