This stunning work shows a lady sitting idly working on her needlework beneath a tree in a spring forest. The forest floor is blooming with ‘hvid anemone’, the famous small white woodland anemone (Anemone nemorosa) which carpets Denmark’s woodland floors in early spring. Painted in 1891, the artist’s best period, the painting is complete in a lovely period frame.
