David Lloyd Blackwood (Canadian 1941)
Still Life of Flowers
monotype on paper, signed and dated lower right "David Blackwood 1989",
David Blackwood’s monotypes began as an experimental practice when he did not have access to his print press while in the midst of building a new studio. With these monoprints the media is applied to the printing plate and transferred to paper, creating a unique printed image without the need for a press. The action of applying directly to the printing plate bridged the gap between his painting and print making practices.
